This is turning out to be love at first sight with PIXI BEAUTY’s Brightening Primer in No.1 Pearl Essence ($33/1.06oz @ target.com). You’re probably familiar with the different face primers out there and we’ve featured one with a tint but this one goes the other direction with the tint. It has a pink pearl powder in it and while that might raise your, whah? flag, it really does give your skin just a hint of oomph and luminescence. And when I say hint, I mean hint so a little mineral foundation over it and your face is ready to go. It has vitamin E, amino acids and proteins inside and what they call, 3-D holographic pigments to enhance radiance. So maybe that’s the smoothness I was seeing as nothing on my face looked 3-D, just slightly glowing but in a very natural looking way.

Check out this STRiPT Crushed Mineral Eye Shadow in the color Skye ($18/1.5g @ striptmakeup.com). Isn’t it really cool? It looks matte in the container but it has a slight shimmer to it. It can be worn wet or dry for different looks and I really think that the name of this iridescent gray/blue should have called blue jeans. It just looks like a pair of nicely worn jeans.

Wow, I just realized how out of touch I’ve been with the OJON line. I forgot how much I really liked this kit when I tried it two years ago and then I saw they have been adding more products to the line! This Tawaka Ancient Tribal Rejuvenating Shampoo and matching Tawaka Ancient Tribal Rejuvenating Conditioner ($44.52/13/5oz each @ qvc.com) totally caught me by surprise. Not that I’m too swayed by reviews but this duo has scored an 81% out of 250 customer reviews. Not bad! Let’s look at each product and what it does.

The Cleanser: Sulfate-free and good for those with dry or damaged hair, which is probably all of us. Contains their trademark Ojon oil, which claims to strengthen and hydrate each strand, many oils like avocado, Sweet Almond, and jojoba to mention a few. And they also say that the savage cacao inside contains the antioxidant equivalent to 125 lbs of blueberries. Ok, this should be a face cream!

The Conditioner: also contains the max amount of Ojon oil and savage cacao inside and this one fully conditions and absolutely no tangles and this one is quite beneficial for the skin! Together these really softened my hair nicely.

I’ve had such a time with my nails my whole life. I have tried this and this and even this. Nothing seems to strengthen or allow them to grow, so I was super curious when I heard about DASHING DIVA salon’s new Gelife Soak-Off Nails. From what I read, this was a must try!

The PHILIP B line has always been on the cutting edge of cool with products that give something extra and unique. From their White Truffle Ultra-Rich Shampoo to the Chai Latte Soul & Body Wash, they never put out a boring product! This Anti-Frizz Formula 57 ($35/2oz @ philipb.com) may not have the fancy name but it has pretty much become my go-to defrizzer right now. It contains vitamin E, jojoba, and soybeach oils and not only does this defrizz but it also protects hair from heat products so this is also a 2-in-1.
When I first used this, I applied it after I was done drying my hair to calm my strands down but you can actually use it on towel dry hair too. Try it both ways to see what works best for you!

Trying to cut corners? Save pennies? Who isn’t? Shopping definitely is not like it used to be so why don’t you try combining two of your makeup products in one. Very popular these days are the combo moisturizer and foundation with the tinted moisturizer. LAURA GELLER just came out with Barely There Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 20 ($30/1.25oz @ sephora.com) and it contains those light-diffusing mineral pigments that lessen the appearance of lines and wrinkles. If you are in a hurry like I seem to be every morning, this will save you a smidgen of time. And even though this one has a SPF 20, I would still use an additional SPF on your face. Available in Fair, Light, Medium or Deep.
