Visit Paris With Your Hands

Payot-Hand-Cream-for-site For some reason my hands have been extra dry this month and I don’t know why. Here in LA it’s not unseasonably cold, quite the opposite. So I’m glad I have PAYOT Nourishing Softening Hand Cream ($23/2.5oz @ ariva.com) on hand (pun intended). Maybe it’s the sweet almond extract or the Shea Butter or jojoba seed oil inside? Or the combo of them together with the other ingredients? I don't know. All I do know is that it seeps in quickly and totally non-greasy. And I love that it has that classic scent like only real French products have.

Crabtree & Evelyn Bring Us To India

Crabtree-&-Evelyn-India-Hicks-Island-Night I can’t resist a great smelling body product. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m convinced that the better a product smells, the better it will work. Don’t you agree? Ha! One that falls into that category is CRABTREE & EVELYN’s new Smooth Body Lotion in India Hicks Island Night ($24.50/8.1oz @ crabtree-evelyn.com). Close your eyes and picture lush purple and white orchids, night-blooming jasmine touched with a soft woody musk and you have the scent mapped out. But this one is not all about the fragrance. The formula is also good for the skin. It contains apricot kernal and coconut oils and nourishing amino acids. Life is good.

By Goodness, By Terry!

Did you know that the Founder of the BY TERRY line, Terry de Gunzburg, is the one responsible for cult favorite Touché Éclat from YSL? ‘Tis a fact! So you can already guess I am totally fascinated by her line. The latest product she’s come out with, among others,By Terry is the Light-Expert Foundation Brush ($48 @ eluxury.com). From the picture here, it looks like the shades are all colors but you’d be surprised on how they make your skin look. Each is going to bring out a different glow on different tones so keep that in mind. I don’t know how to determine which would work best for you from just looking online so I would just email them @ byterry.com as they should be able to guide you.

I have an olive complexion and the Golden Light I used really gave my skin a light coverage and overall radiance boost. The formula contains hyaluronic acid filling spheres, which from what I can gather, claims to plump the skin and smooth away wrinkles. Hmmm, I didn’t notice that happening but maybe it did and that’s why I didn’t notice it!

I also read that this one is best if you have dry to normal skin. Oily types? Stay away.

And because the product has a built-in the brush, I don’t feel like I am wasting any of it if I don’t use it all from one pump. Simply put that cap back on and it will stay fresh. So dab, dab, dab, around the face and then blend, blend, blend. Radiance, here I come!

Anastasia Bakes Up Some Goodies

I’m still pretty obsessed with my brows these days and even moreso since I wait longer in between waxings to save money. So I’ve been plucking! Ugh, the pain. I hate it. Anyway, beauty is pain and the new ANASTASIA Baked Highlighting Brow Kit ($32 @ anastasia.net) has pretty much been my lifesaver to keepingAnastasia-Baked-Highlighting-Brow-Kit my eye area popping since Christmas. Inside this magnetic case are two lumps of baked terracotta – one is for brows and the other is for highlighting around the eye. And they contain their exclusive ingredient, Balkan Botanical Infusion, which is a rare plant and herb extract only found in Romanian soil. It seems like this should come with a duo brush but it doesn’t. I guess there are too many choices in with this for a brush with just two sides!
