Let's See What Carmindy Has Inspired With Sally Hansen

When is a beauty product not about packaging? Packaging is always an important part of the beauty ... dance, so to speak, well at least for me. Celebrity makeup artist Carmindy (yes, she goes by one name like Cher) recently created the Natural Beauty Inspired by Carmindy line for SALLY HANSEN.Sally-Hansen-Loose-Powder-with-top It’s comprised of makeup products that are paraben-free and are infused with natural anti-antioxidants and botanicals. From blushes to eye shadow to our favorite, Truly Translucent Loose Powder ($12.99 @ Not only is the price totally workable but check out this application puff! It’s attached to the top and you just shake a little up from the bottom container and buff, buff onto the skin. I hope they use this kind of packaging in some of their other upcoming products. It’s totally fun!

Nourishing Skin Care From the French

Patyka-Demaquillant-Intense Lately I’ve been using the hard stuff to clean and remove my makeup at the end of the day. What is it exactly? Cold cream. But for some reason I have not been liking it as much as I usually do. So in my quest for something lighter but just as good, I got lucky with the French brand, PATYKA’s, Biokaliftin Demaquillant Intense ($42/3.38oz @ This is an organic cosmeceutical line and their products carry the ECOCERT stamp so they never use any synthetics or fillers. This is probably the purest brand I've come across this year. This cleanser is formulated with over 86% certified organic plant extracts including rose floral water (which you can smell), cornflower extract, sesame seed oil and palmarosa extract, to name a few. While it didn’t leave my face as dewy as the cold cream, it felt hydrated and not tight at all. I’ve gone to bed sans night cream every night this week and my skin doesn’t seem to be suffering (parched) each morning.

Alima Pure Goes Hollywood

Let’s get down and dirty with the latest from ALiMA PURE. I was recently introduced to this line of mineral makeup and so far, I am liking it. The colors are pretty rich and all of them have been totally wearable. Not a sour one in the bunch! Let’s look at a few collections they are putting out for the holidays, a tribute to the sirens of the silver screen.

Take care of your eyes with Act I with Eye Shadows - Lana (creamy pink shimmer), Ingrid (pearly taupe), Ava (silver), Bette (velvety blue with a hint of silver). Wear one, two or all four at once to create a sexy smoky eye look.

Act II helps you get the most outta cheeks with a Blush and two highlighters – Harlow (pearl highlighter), Garbo (matte brown to create depth), Leigh (neutral rose with hint of copper shimmer).

Each collection is on $25 and $2 from each sale is donated to the Global Fund for Women. Love that!

L'Oreal Knows Skin Care

L'Oreal-Revitalift I seem to shy away from cleansers that have the consistency of that of a lotion. It just seems more suitable for, well, a lotion instead of a cleanser. But I think this L’OREAL RevitaLift Radiant Cream Cleanser ($6.99/5oz) has changed my mind. Though it doesn’t foam, which I am so used to at this stage in life, it’s not thin like other cream-like cleansers. And for the price, you just can’t beat it! Check out the L’Oreal store at for all the other products in the RevitaLift collection, like the Radiant Smoothing Wet Cleansing Towelettes ($6.69/30 towels). They’re a dream when you’re on the road.
