Make It Last With A Face Primer
I recently took an impromptu poll of 10 women to see how many of them are incorporating a face primer into their daily routines. The results? Out of 10, 4 are using one. Hmmmm, not as many as I thought but maybe the trend is just taking a few to get to everyone. A primer does a few things: fills in wrinkles to create a seemless application for your foundation, helps makeup last longer than normal and can help correct something on the face like rosacea. Try any of the below for super smooth results.
SEPHORA "Tricks of the Trade" Immediate Wrinkle Filler ($20/.42oz @ sephora.com)
MALLY BEAUTY Perfect Prep Primer ($35 @ qvc.com)
REDPOINT Age MInimizer Line Filler ($38/1oz @ redpointbeauty.com)
MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Microperfecting Primer ($32/1oz @ sephora.com)

I put my vote in for the Sephora immediate wrinkle filler. It's my most recent purchase and by far my favorite primer (I am definitely a longtime primer-phile and have tried TONS of different ones).
I found it to be the ONLY primer I've ever used that keeps my makeup on for 10 horus without a loose/setting powder on top of everything.

I always wonder about primers, but being a mineral makeup girl, I never know which one will work for me!

I love beauty products, I swear, I own a little bit of everything out there, but for some reason, I can't get myself to buy a primer. I think because for the most part, they're on the expensive side. I would like to try one out sometime, just to see if they live up to the hype. I think my biggest issue with primers is that a lot of them are silicone based and I have a tendency to break out, and I know silicone isn't good at all for break outs.

Hello! I am glad to read about these various facial primers. I use one almost daily! It keeps the oil from ruining my makeup for the day. Cindi

Thanks for the info on the various primers. I am still trying to find the one for me. I found the Smashbox primer to be overrated and I am glad that you looked beyond the primers that get so much hype.

I use the infamous chafing gel and I think it works just as well as the smashbox primer, for way cheap.

My mom always talks about primer, I've never really used it. I do use an eye shadow primer though for my lids :)

I have been using Redpoint primer for several years and LOVE it. I've tried several others, including Laura Geller's Spackle, but this is hands down my favorite. The texture is just right. I have mature, but still oily, skin and this hides pores, fills tiny lines, dries to matte, and is a fantastic base for an oil free foundation. Highly recommended.
