Me By Mezhgan ... For Me And You

We love discovering new lines, especially when they knock our socks off and this next line’s product did. A little about the line – Mezghan from ME BY {ME}ZHGAN (pronounced mish-gone) has worked her way up the ladder and is nowMe_2 one of the chief makeup artists on a little show called American Idol. She wanted to create a line for everyday people like you and me and the result is a full line of cosmetics for lips, eyes, cheeks and face. My first pick of the litter is her  Luminous {Me} – Primer and Foundation ($49). It’s a 2-in-1makeup primer on one side and foundation on the other. So it’s perfect for traveling. I thought this might be one of those, I like one but not the other but not the case. Pump the left side for the gel primer that fills the nooks and crannies on your face and the pump of the right side for the foundation. It’s available in Light, Medium, Tan and Dark and their site even shows pictures so you can match your tone. I’m pretty sure this is one of those self-adjusting foundations because I thought my tone fell in between Light and Medium and the Medium actually seemed to work on my skin tone.
This time of year, I usually sway towards using mineral powder for my foundations but I have to say that this liquid didn’t feel heavy at all and it gave a medium coverage. Nice!

When I have ventured into liquid foundation territory in the past few months, which as been pretty infrequently overall, I’ve been liking the makeup-brush-to-apply method instead of a sponge. Their takelon-haired Foundation Brush ($20) helps you apply the formula like the makeup artist you are. Both @ mebymezhgan.com

I really think this is cool! I love how they include the primer and foundation in one! It would be soooo helpful for my already overcrowded diaper bag! I love discovering new products too. I think so many people get "set" in there way and are afraid to veture out and discover all the new things coming out to make our lices easier or even better! I go to a skin trade show every year and love seeing all the new cool things that just came out or will be coming out soon. I wonder if Mezhgan will be there?

I've never really used a primer before, so this would be interesting to try. I tend to go for the mineral makeup foundation as well, so it's nice to know that someone who uses a mineral likes this. The liquid always seemed to oily for me. I tend to get stuck in a rut and use the same thing over and over, so I should branch out and try something new! Thanks for the advice!

Oh, that sounds like a great product... I'll definitely have to try it out. I haven't got into the mineral makeups (gasp!) but part of that is because I love lancome's foundation so I'm having a hard time stepping away from the liquids since they seem to last longer. I've never tried a primer though so I'd love to see how my makeup would hold up on my long days of work and school... I do wish it was slightly cheaper though since I want to try it out without the $50 commitment!

Oh how I wish I could use a liquid foundation (other than a mineral liquid foundation)! This looks totally travel-friendly and fool-proof. Plus, the packaging is adorable. Great post Cybele!

Hi Tonya, I'm surprised it took this long for someone to come out with a 2-in-1! Which trade show do you go to every year? love going to those to find new products! That's how I found Tassi. Thanks for reading.

Hi Trisha - if it's not broke, why fix it! But I think what made me wow over mineral makeup over 6 years ago now was how different my skin looked. You get used to your skin looking one way when you have makeup on and this really made it look different in a very good way. You should try going to a BE stand up store in the mall and have them try it on you. And I just saw that BE is rolling out set ups in Macys, believe it or not!

You know, I've admired the makeup artistry on American Idol ever since LaKisha Jones was on there-- her makeup ALWAYS looked flawless, and I commented on it to my husband every time she took the stage! So I have to wonder if Mezhgan might be somebody whose work I've admired for all this time! Definitely makes me want to try her line out, actually.

Thanks for the info. I'm definitely going to subscribe to your blog-- seems like you talk about a lot of products I haven't discovered yet!
