Be Part Of The Happy Hands Club With AB Skincare

Ab_2We found a few products that focus just on the hands and feet and I’m not talking about just ones that moisturize, as we’ve seen hundreds of those. *Yawn* These are anti-aging product specifically targeting the two areas and they come to us from AB SKiNCARE. We wrote about their Sun product back in May but there is so much more to this line than I initially thought. We’ve all heard the benefits of glycolic acid in beauty products but because we are all on info overload, here’s a reminder - because of its tiny size, glycolic acidis excellent at being able to penetrate skin layers to lessen the appearance of fine lines and scars, clear up acne and even fade sunspots. AB Skincare has some products for the face but as I mentioned, what really perked up my ears are the products made just for the hands and feet. Love that! It’s true that if you want to guess a woman’s age, to look at her hands but she may now confuse you if she regularly uses AB Hands. Each pad is dripping with the super-strength formula to help eliminate age spots, lines and work on sun damage.

Let’s next work our way down to one of my favorite areas to pamper, the feet! AB Happy Feet pads are infused with 20% pure glycolic, vitamins A, C, E, and even the popular anti-aging ingredient Q10. The glycolic works on the tough rough calluses and the other ingredients help the skin out. They even claim that using a pad daily will strengthen the nails and keep nasty discolorations at bay. Hmmmm. I don’t know how many days you’d have to use them to get that benefit but I’ve got about 46 of them left.

There is one aspect I reckon they might want to rethink with these. While I agree that a pad is a great way to carry the ingredients from the container to the location on the body, the pads tend to roll and bunch up if I don’t swipe in a straight line. Maybe a bigger size would work? I’m not sure what the answer is but I just had to throw it out there. Otherwise, two great products! $95/60 pads each @

You Better Work!

WhitesandshairsprayRuPaul should be the spokesperson for the new Stuck-Up ($24-$26/10oz @ salons nationwide) from WHITE SANDS. This mega-hold hairspray really … holds but it’s another one of those that you should consider reaching for when styling. Like their other revolutionary hairsprays, it can be used on wet or dry hair and combed out with no leftover residue or stiffness. And what about using it with hot tools like a curling iron or straight iron? It not only helps you make the most perfect curl but it makes the strands really shiny. Fun! I’ve been trying different styles out with this spray – from really straight to more natural looking loose waves, and this really helps you achieve the many different looks I go for on a weekly basis. Big recommendation.

Get Brow-Tastic With Anastasia

Here are three to snap your brows into shape. We don’t care which ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS one you use to do it, just make sure you get at least one of these down. As you’ve heard a million times by now, brows are soooo important when it comes to your overall look. All @

  1. Brow Filler ($20) – duo-sided and sponge-tipped for filling in. The powder is slightly damp so it adheres to the skin/hair.
  2. Go Brow – Universal Brow Pencil ($21) – this medium neutral brown color really seems universal! I always go to dark with my pencil or powder.
  3. ‘Brow Wiz’ Mechanical Brow Pencil ($18) – has to be the slimmest, skinniest, on a diet brow pencil and it makes really thin lines so your work looks more natural.

Powder Pick-Me-Up With Youngblood Cosmetics

I heard about a great way to get the most out your bronzer – sculpt a number three on each side of your face. Ok, here’s what I mean: swirl some bronzer on a medium sized face brush, like the Highlighting Brush from SONIA KASHUK ($12.99 @ The bristles are spread further apart towards the tip so you’ll get a light application and can build it up. Depending on how much control you like to have the SHU UEMURA 7.5EXG ($35 @ goat-haired brush is also a good one. The fan-ness of this one really grazes features for a soft look and the handle maneuvers nicely. Next, start just above your temple/brow in front of the hair line and make a number three on the right side and a backwards three on your left side. Using this method seems to hit just the right places, including the cheeks, for a fresh look. One bronzer great for this technique is YOUNGBLOOD’s Mineral Radiance ($39 @ Choose from three different color compacts. I like Splendor and Sundance with the four colors that allow you to really sculpt the area for a naturally healthy finish.

Help A Hair, Will You?

I’m pretty set with what I like when it comes to shampoo and conditioner but I’m always open to trying new styling products. One of these days I want to go really short so I can take advantage of using pomades etc not just on my ends. Here are three worth your dime.

ECRU new Silk Texturizing Balm ($32.50/1.69oz @

  • Lightweight and super piece-y hold
  • Made to work in any weather
  • Not a pomade or wax so won’t weigh hair down

PROSILK Serum ($19.95/6oz @

  • Protects against heat styling products
  • No build up
  • Really tamed my frizzes before blowdrying

SHU UEMURA Liquid Fabric Mineral Texture Spray ($30/8.5oz @

  • To help maintain waves or curls
  • Contains sea minerals
  • Cool looking spray bottle (common, you know you think so too!)

Go Ahead, Get Wet ... You've Got It

The mercury was pinned to well past 90 degrees in my apartment this past weekend. If I didn’t have to go to a friend’s birthday party on Saturday, I would not have even bothered going out. Looking half decent in these kinds of conditions isn’t easy, as I’m sure you’re aware, as everything on my dressing table of makeup looked too heavy and hot to wear. Ok, powder. Let’s move all the powder products to the front of the table: mineral foundation, loose eye shadow and this Itcosmeticsuse_2Get Wet makeup powder trio from IT COSMETICS ($32 @ This palette houses a (matte) bronzer, which is on the dark side, and two highlighter shades (shimmering light peach and shimmering white) and each is totally sweatproof, waterproof … basically everything proof. They say that each is wearable on all skin tones.

From the picture on the outside of the magnetic case, it looks like it was made for the body, but since I’m not doing photo shoots everyday, I’ll stick to applying these to my lids, face, and once in a while, my décolleté. These can be used to sculpt your abs and other places so if you dare, this is a good trio to try that out.
Back to the party – every time I had to use the restroom, I would lightly splash some cool water on my face to cool down and can firmly say that the places I applied the Get Wet powders didn’t smudge, smear or come off. Towards the end of the night, a water fight broke out in the backyard but knew I was fine since I knew my makeup wasn’t going anywhere.
